Louis Jolliet: A Solid Path Through Water, is a one act, one person play written and performed by Jim Healy, in honor of the 350th anniversary of the voyage of Father Jacques Marquette and Louis Jolliet down the Mississippi River. Their four month voyage began  May 17th, 1673.  Although Jolliet returned to Quebec, Father Marquette died on his return journey.

Many in the Joliet area fondly remember Jim Healy’s award winning turn as Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, but Jim’s dramatic training goes back to his high school and college years, including a stint in college studying acting and directing in London. A psychologist by training, in 2019 Jim received an honorary doctorate in the Humanities from Lewis University for his work helping families.

The play will premiere in Joliet, Illinois at the Bicentennial Theater in April of 2023. However, there will be out of town performances before then, as well as additional performances afterwards.
